Durston’s new steel Bench Blocks, also known as flat plates, flat stakes, or swage blocks, are essential tools in the workshop for flattening, laying out, and chasing metal. Constructed from tool steel, each bench block is ground flat, polished, and case hardened to ensure durability and precision. They can be used with a mallet or hammer for flattening metal or as a hard surface for texturing and punching. To maintain quality results, the surface should be kept clean and polished to prevent transferring unwanted marks to the workpiece. These bench blocks are available in six different sizes to suit various workshop needs.
